This book gave me so many mixed reactions – at first it was a tiny bit hard to get into (I can’t understand why), but the character dynamics were just so interesting I really couldn’t put it down. The whole plot idea was so intriguing – a young boy goes missing when his mother is downstairs dining with the parents of the other boys. I love these kind of who-dunnit thrillers that include family issue - plus the twists and turns throughout the book just kept me on the edge of my seat. The main character is a very flawed and complicated character, and his female PI partner was really fun to read about. The main plot weaves in and out of your head and really makes you try and unravel the mystery. The subplots which were put in place to build the characters were a bit distracting – but that’s only because I was desperate to get to the end. In all, the book was actually a fast, easy read, and the quality of writing was top-notch. If you love thrillers, this one will really get your heart beating.
